In Russia, three days of voting in the "presidential election" ended, in which no opposition candidate took part. The Russian Central Election Commission reported a record turnout.

Voting took place over three days - from March 15 to 17. In addition to the usual voting at polling stations, Russians could vote through the portal of electronic public services, which Russian oppositionists almost unanimously consider one of the main tools for falsifying the final results.

In addition, voting took place in the occupied territories of Ukraine - in Crimea and in those territories of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, which are currently controlled by the Russian army.

In addition to Vladimir Putin, three other people put forward their candidacies - Vladislav Davankov (State Duma deputy, pseudo-oppositionist who votes for government laws in the Duma), Leonid Slutsky (State Duma deputy, head of Putin's LDPR party) and Mykola Kharitonov (State Duma deputy from the CPRF , also quite loyal to the Kremlin).

All three alternative candidates generally support the Kremlin's current course and have never openly criticized Putin. Those candidates who advocated an end to the war in Ukraine were not allowed to participate in the elections.

According to the Russian Central Election Commission, voter turnout at the time of the closing of the polling stations was 73,3%. This is the highest indicator for all time since the collapse of the USSR. For comparison, in 2018, the turnout was 67,5%, in 2012 - 65,3%.

In the occupied territories of Ukraine, the Russians decided to close the polling stations earlier - at 15 p.m. - for security reasons. But they still reported a dizzying turnout - 88% in Donetsk region, 87% in Luhansk, 83,8% in Kherson, 85% in Zaporizhzhya.

Chechnya has traditionally demonstrated a complete detachment from reality. There, the local election committee counted the turnout at 96%.

Voting was marked by a significant number of incidents with demonstrative tampering of ballots and burning of polling stations. According to the opposition project "OVD-Info", security forces detained at least 75 people in 17 cities. Some - for words spoken at polling stations.
