The Telegram messenger, one of the founders of which is a programmer from the Russian Federation Pavlo Durov, cooperates with the Russian security forces. This was stated by State Duma deputy Artem Metelev, according to the Telegram channel of ASTRA, which positions itself as an independent publication.

The message states that the head of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, Artem Metelev, commented on the RTVI correspondent's question about the possible blocking of the messenger.

"Both the Telegram administration and Pavlo Durov himself always respond very quickly. We see it simply - on adventures, they cooperate with law enforcement agencies, including blocking prohibited content."

According to him, the Center for the Protection of Youth Rights "regularly receives requests to block this or that channel, Zhyvodersky and so on" and added that the moderators "come to meet" and ban such content.

"Well, terrorists would not recruit in Telegram, they would recruit in WhatsApp or somewhere else. Here we need to work on prevention, on algorithms, I am sure that the special services are engaged in this", - the Russian deputy believes.
