The winners of the annual competition "Best Electric Car of the Year" and "Best World Car 2024" were announced at the New York Auto Show. It is interesting that this year both awards were chosen by the Kia EV9 electric crossover.
According to experts, the victory is not a surprise, as the EV9 was warmly received by journalists. In the final part of the competition, the model competed with BYD Seal and Volvo EX30. Still, the win should help boost sales of the new Kia, which starts at $54.

The continued success of the Kia EV9 will motivate us to continue to offer exceptional vehicles that will redefine the driving experience for customers around the world," said Kia President and CEO Ho Son Song.
In turn, the electric crossover Volvo EX30 received the title of World Urban Car, ahead of BYD Dolphin and Lexus LBX. In addition, the BMW i5 / 5-Series beat the Mercedes E-Class and the EQE crossover to win the World Luxury Car nomination.
It is also noted that the Toyota Prius won the "Best Design of the Year" award, beating the Ford Bronco and the Ferrari Purosangue.
