In Ukraine, part of pensions will be increased from April 1. The maximum amount of the allowance will be UAH 520. We are talking about pensioners aged 65 with at least 30 years of experience for women and 35 years for men.
This is stated in the publication of the publication "On retirement". Thus, according to current legislation, such citizens cannot receive payments lower than 40% of the minimum wage. Since January 1, the minimum wage in Ukraine has increased to 7100 hryvnias.
But the recalculation of payments for this category of pensioners was decided to be postponed to March in order to conduct it together with the annual indexation. As a result, from March 1, minimum pensions for 65-year-old Ukrainians increased from 2680 to 2840 hryvnias. We remind you that this is the minimum pension amount.
For the first increase, payments increased by 160 hryvnias. But from April 1, pensions will be transferred to this category of citizens again in connection with another increase in the minimum wage. From April 1, 2024, it will amount to 8000 hryvnias, accordingly, the pension should not be lower than 3200 hryvnias.
This double increase will increase the amount of payments to 65-year-olds by 520 hryvnias. It is worth noting that pensioners aged 65 who continue to work may not count on this increase. Their pension changes only after dismissal - then a recalculation is made taking into account the current minimum wage. We will remind that as a result of the indexation from March 1, pension payments increased by an average of UAH 397,07, the average amount of the pension is UAH 5792,02.
