The Citroen crossover will be a budget alternative to the BMW X2

The model will be produced in Brazil and India. It will be an inexpensive analogue of BMW X2 and Audi Q3 Sportback, and its main competitors will be Renault Arkana and Volkswagen Taigo.

Crossover Citroen Basalt Vision has an expressive design with a sloping roof, inclined rear pillars and a pointed "stern". It has a tall window line, flared fenders and large headlights. High ground clearance and a protective off-road body kit also attract attention.

Citroen Basalt will be built on the CMP platform and will be a close relative of the C3 and C3 Aircross crossovers, which are sold outside of Europe.

Initially, the Citroen Basalt crossover coupe will be offered with a 1,2-liter gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 110 hp. and will be sold with a mechanical auto automatic transmission. An electric version may be added to the lineup later.
