The Korean company Hyundai introduced the Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup in 2021, and now, three years later, it has revealed its updated version.
During restyling, the appearance of the pickup was changed. Now the Hyundai Santa Cruz has become less similar to the Tucson crossover, on the basis of which it is built. The pickup received a new aggressive radiator grill, in addition, the developers changed the main optics - the principle remained unchanged, but the shape of the vertically located headlights is now different.
The pickup was also equipped with new front and rear bumpers, and the XRT version received a darkened version of the radiator grille, which has integrated towing hooks, as well as 18-inch wheels of an original design, "shod" in 245/60 R18 high-terrain tires.
The interior of the updated Hyundai Santa Cruz differs depending on the version. So, the top versions received a large horizontally located curved display, which combines both a virtual instrument panel and a screen of the infotainment system; the diagonal of each screen is 12,3 inches. Physical buttons for controlling the audio system and the air conditioning system remained in the cabin.
The front panel of the pickup was also equipped with new ventilation holes, which visually pass through its entire width - practically from door to door. Hyundai developers also equipped the model with a new steering wheel and a central armrest with two glass holders for passengers located on the rear seats. Standard equipment includes wireless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as over-the-air updates.
During the update, Santa Cruz equipment was not touched: the lineup still has a 194-horsepower four-cylinder 2,5-liter naturally aspirated engine (maximum torque - 245 Nm), as well as a T-GDI turbo four of the same volume with a capacity of 285 hp (422 Nm). They are paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic that has been upgraded with the use of a smaller hydraulic and oil pump multi-disc torque converter.
It is assumed that the new Hyundai Santa Cruz will appear at dealers on the American market in the summer of this year. Prices will be announced later. The price of the current version of the pickup in the USA starts at $26, and the top version is asking $900.
