Ford Explorer Electric is the result of cooperation between the American company Ford and the German concern Volkswagen. It was built on the MEB platform. The same platform, let's recall, is the basis for such electric crossovers as the Volkswagen ID.4 and the Skoda Enyaq iV.
Buyers of the Explorer Electric are offered in two versions, depending on the electric power plant. The standard version with rear-wheel drive is equipped with one electric motor with a capacity of 286 hp. and 545 Nm of torque. Such a crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 6,4 seconds with a maximum speed of 180 km/h. The range is 602 km according to the WLTP test cycle.
The top version has all-wheel drive and two electric motors with a total capacity of 300 hp. Such a crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 5,3 seconds with a maximum speed of 180 km/h. The range is also 602 km.
The standard equipment includes the following equipment: LED headlights, adaptive cruise control with Stop&Go function, infotainment system with a 14,6-inch touch screen, front seats with electric adjustment, driver's seat with massage, frontal collision prevention system, wheel rims and much more another
The top configuration additionally includes the following equipment: matrix LED headlights, 20-inch light-alloy wheels, Bang & Olufsen premium audio system with 10 speakers and much more.
The standard version of the Ford Explorer electric crossover with one electric motor in the basic configuration in Europe costs from 51 euros, and in the premium configuration - from 765 euros. The top version with two electric motors in the basic configuration costs from 54 euros, and in the premium configuration - 785 euros. Interestingly, the Tesla Model Y costs from 58 euros. The difference is noticeable.
Later, buyers will be offered a less expensive version of the Explorer Electric with a range of about 370 km. It will have one electric motor with a capacity of 171 hp. and a 52 kWh battery.
