An ancient Greek statue of a woman who appears to be "using a laptop" is the basis for a conspiracy theory and seems to be proof of time travel. The statue once marked a grave and was created around 100 BC.

However, historians have dismissed this theory as nonsense and provided more reasonable explanations. This is reported by the Greek Reporter.

The statue is called "Tomb of a Woman Enthroned with Servants" and is on display at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Malibu, California. It depicts a seated woman, and in front of her stands a slave who holds a thin, complex container in his hands.

A woman who looks like a housewife touches the top of the container with her fingers, looking up with stony eyes. Conspiracy theorists believe that the pictured container is actually a laptop with USB ports on the side of the device.

Archaeologist Christina Killgrove debunked the theory that the ancient Greeks somehow stumbled upon advanced computer technology. She offered a number of more tangible explanations for what the object the woman was holding on the statue might be, including a wax tablet or some kind of jewelry box or other container.
