Why is the eggplant crop bad?

Eggplants are a popular vegetable in Ukraine, although it is difficult to say that the climate in our country is ideal for such a plant. That is why, if you want to grow bluebells in your garden, you need to take care to create the best conditions for them. Fluctuations in temperature and improper care of the culture can be the reason why it gave birth so poorly. We are talking about the most common mistakes that many gardeners encountered, but not everyone managed to correct their own mistakes.

Why is the eggplant crop bad?

The first and most common mistake is improper lighting of eggplant seedlings. You should start growing seedlings in the last weeks of February or March. However, during this period, the plant does not have enough daylight to develop fully. However, often gardeners, on the contrary, "bend the stick" and force the culture to develop in an excess amount of light. The best indicator is 10-12 hours of daylight for eggplants.

Another mistake concerns diving. Young seedlings, and especially their root system, are quite sensitive to damage, and therefore take a long time to adapt and get used to after an unexpected dive. Moreover, young seedlings will develop much worse in this case. It is recommended to plant eggplant seeds in separate containers, so that in the future they can be transplanted into open ground, simply by rolling them directly with a lump of earth.

But as for the direct transplanting of the plant into the open ground, it is important to remember that it is important to choose the optimal moment for moving heat-loving eggplant seedlings to prepared beds. By this time, the soil should warm up to at least 20 degrees. If the seedlings are transplanted into colder soil, their adaptation period will be too long, which will not allow the plants to develop well and qualitatively.
