Although the former US president, who is trying to return to the White House this year, does not sell the Bible directly, he receives a royalty on the purchases, The New York Times reported, citing a source familiar with the contract.
On the website of the organization that offers to buy the book, it is said that it is "the only Bible that Donald Trump promotes!".
At the same time, the sellers assure that not a single cent of the revenue received from the sale of these Bibles will be used to finance the campaign of the Republican candidate in the presidential elections this November. However, it states that Trump's image is being used on a paid basis.
In a video posted on the Truth Social social network, the former president urges his supporters to buy these Bibles. “Every American needs a Bible at home, and I have several. This is my favorite book. This is a favorite book of many people," says Donald Trump in the three-minute clip.
The money from Bible ads probably won't actually go to Trump's election campaign, but he's in desperate need of cash anyway. A New York court set him on $175 million bail in a fraud lawsuit. If he doesn't pay that amount, Trump's accounts will be frozen and his assets, including his downtown Manhattan skyscrapers, will be seized.
