The administration of the President of the United States of America (USA) Joe Biden criticized the intention of the House of Representatives to vote on the bill on financial assistance to Israel separately from the support program for Ukraine.

This was stated by the press secretary of the White House, Karin Jean-Pierre, reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to the White House.

The American official called such an initiative a "cynical political maneuver" by lawmakers from the Republican Party in the House of Representatives.

“For several months, the administration has been working with a bipartisan group of senators on a national security agreement that secures our border and provides support for the people of Ukraine and Israel. At a time when legislation is imminent, House Republicans are offering their latest cynical political maneuver," she said in a statement.

The representative of the White House noted that "the security of Israel should be sacred, not a political game."

Jean-Pierre emphasized that the administration "resolutely opposes this prank", which does not contribute to the security of the border, does not help the people of Ukraine to protect themselves from Russian aggression, and refuses to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.

"Instead, House Republicans should work bipartisanly, as the administration and Senate do, on these pressing national security issues," she said.

Earlier, on February 3, the speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Mike Johnson, said that next week the House will vote on the bill on aid to Israel in the amount of more than 17 billion dollars. And this proposal will soon be published by the Senate "after long negotiations".

According to him, now the States do not have time to consider a package that combines aid to Ukraine and Israel.

It will be recalled that in October of last year, US President Joe Biden submitted to Congress a $106 billion bill to help Israel and Ukraine, as well as Taiwan. Of this sum, 61,3 billion dollars were proposed to be allocated to Ukraine, and 14,3 billion dollars to Israel.

However, in December, the Senate blocked consideration of this document. The reason was the demands of the Republicans to include in the bill a tougher set of measures to protect the southern border of the USA with Mexico.
