It is worth remembering grandfather's canvas backpacks, some of which are still used by tourists! But the Soviet tarpaulin backpacks burned out a long time ago and can tear in the places where the straps are attached. Sometimes it is better not to risk and buy new tarpaulin backpacks, valuable with enhanced strength, low cost ($6-10), equipped with plastic latches and locks - for carrying relatively small volumes of cargo, these versions of backpacks equipped with narrow or wide straps will seem the best solution for a beginner tourist .
