As with any other type of lumber, the planed board has certain parameters that determine the quality of the board. The most important of them is the geometry of the board profile, the quality of the chips, and humidity.
The geometry of the board profile determines the accuracy of the length and width along the entire length of the board, as well as the constancy of the thickness dimensions. To control such parameters as length and width, various measuring instruments are used, and to check flatness, a perfectly flat surface is used, on which the board is placed. In case of deviation from the norm, the board will not lie tightly.
The quality of the chips shows how well the board is processed. In most cases, to determine the quality of the chip, it is enough to run the palm over it. If the processing is of proper quality, then you will not feel any roughness.
Board moisture is the most important parameter on which all other board properties depend. As a rule, in the case of a planed board, the humidity should not exceed 12%. To accurately determine the level of humidity, measurements are made in three places of the board, using an electric hygrometer.
