New tourist routes have been developed in the city of Lviv for several years. Currently, work is underway to develop another tourist route - a trip to the dungeons, thanks to which tourists will be able to see the city of Lviv from another side. Rather, it is the ego of the dungeon. Tourists who chose tours from mtourism.com.ua/excursion-to-lviv-ua-1 will be able to see with their own eyes the city of the Middle Ages, which Lviv has preserved in underground tunnels to this day. The project of the tourist route was prepared in the European Union.

Nowadays, anyone who wants to see what Lviv was like in the old days can go down into the dungeons. From the outside, Lviv is a lush, colorful city, where every building is a story. A lot of classics and baroque style, that's what Lviv always beckoned and is beckoning. But only outside. Underground, everything looks different. Deep down, this is not the same colorful Lviv. This is a very strict, mysterious and mystical city. Ego, hidden underground tunnels know many secrets. The developed project of the underground route will open to the public the old buildings, beer halls, and church basements of the city located underground. After all, what is on the surface, in Lviv, is not at all similar to what was preserved under the old cobblestones, which was not destroyed as a result of a large-scale fire in 1527.

440 thousand euros have been allocated for the implementation of the project in Lviv. 10% of this amount is money donated by citizens and funds from the local budget. Projects of this kind usually take a very long time to implement, but Lviv does not expect such participation. As early as next year, it is planned to conduct the first tour of underground Lviv for tourists.

According to the plan of the designers, the route of underground Lviv will start under the building of the low and big wall, where there is a monument to the first printer Ivan Fedorov. Further it will lie in the direction to the basement of the Dominican Church and further to the Market Square, to the basement of the Town Hall and to the Jesuit Church. In general, the total length of the route will reach up to 8 thousand square meters of exhibition spaces. It is planned to install an information stand at the entrance to the dungeons, possibly even with models of the staged development of the route.

Beers that are already open today will be preserved. This must be done in order to be able to show tourists the culture of masonry, connection, stone ornaments, which is proof of the existence of a highly organized society.

These beer bottles will not be cleaned very carefully. The architects are confident that the centuries-old plaque on the walls will only give the dungeon a special mysteriousness. Each stone part of the dungeon will correspond to a certain theme. For example, notes of bench craft from the history of the burghers will be used, and in the basement of the Town Hall, perhaps, everything related to the time of Magda Boer rule will be presented for viewing.

Today, access to the underground premises of individual sacred buildings is already open. For example, the Dungeon in the basement of the Museum of History and Religion. This is the structure of the Dominican monastery, the church of the Jesuit order and the basement of the Church of the Transfiguration. In the church dungeon, you can see the remains of the masonry of the princely era, frescoes of the 18th century, stone carvings, a stone sarcophagus of the 18th century, torture chambers for thieves and murderers. And this entire route is accompanied by interesting action, stories of ancient legends and mystical stories, of which there are so many in ancient Lviv. And there are so many such stories.
