Gas boilers are very popular heating equipment these days. For the correct functioning of the unit, one detail is important — a special sensor. It controls the mechanism of the unit's functioning, thereby ensuring automation and safety.
The essence of the work of this component is to recognize a problem, failure and transfer this information to the user. There are several main sensors, we will consider them in more detail below.
To determine the traction force, a traction sensor is installed in the boiler. Carbon monoxide, which is formed during the operation of the equipment, is removed due to draft, if it becomes weak, then this can lead to damping of the column and an accident. To prevent such a situation, a thermal relay is installed in the smoke detector. The type of this equipment depends on what kind of device you have - with natural or forced draft.
The first case. Soot is removed through the chimney. The installed thermostat reacts to changes in draft and temperature. The device is a metal plate with contacts. Through them, the valve receives a signal, and it, in turn, blocks the access of gas when it fails, and the boiler shuts down. Another nuance is the lack of rarefaction in the smoke channel. This is when carbon monoxide enters the house instead of going outside. There are several reasons for this: an incorrectly installed or complex chimney, its clogging, or temperature fluctuations. In any case, the problem must be eliminated promptly to avoid poisoning.
In the unit with forced draft, a turbine-fan is used to remove soot. The sensor looks like a membrane. In the process of normal functioning, it changes shape under gas pressure.
In a situation where there are any violations, the membrane remains flat, the contacts open and the gas valve is blocked.
Another important device is a pressostat. It fixes pressure jumps and decreases in water pressure, thereby protecting the boiler from overheating. The device looks like a standard relay. When moisture condenses, the sensor is instantly activated, and it also records pressure readings. Boiler pressure switches can be purchased at any specialized store.
In order to avoid boiling of the heating equipment, an overheating sensor is installed on it. This equipment disconnects the contacts and stops the operation of the gas boiler if the temperature reaches a critical level.
More and more often, the last time is established temperature sensors for a gas boiler. The essence of the device's operation consists in monitoring and providing information about the temperature regime. They come in different types: wired and wireless, simple and programmable. There are also 2 types of boiler sensors. Overhead ones are fixed on the pipes, and submerged ones are fixed directly in the tank.
They also distinguish street and room sensors. Such details help to save costs. The street version is equipped with a weather-dependent program. It regulates the operation of the boiler, thereby reducing gas consumption and increasing the life of the heating system.
The room sensor responds to changes in the temperature regime in the house. And transmits a signal to increase or decrease the heating power.
The flame sensor is designed to protect the house. In the case of a sudden dimming or reduction in the intensity of burning, it sends a signal to the automatic system, which blocks the gas supply.
Not all sensors can come complete with gas equipment, so experts advise to purchase them spare parts for boilers in Ukraine, of the same manufacturer as the boiler brand. All these additional devices are intended to protect people and premises, as well as reduce costs.
