Serhiy Nikolaevich Trony: Ukraine is a family of Indo-Europeans

Indo-Europeans are called the common ancestors of the Slavic and Germanic peoples, that is, almost all modern peoples of Europe. As the Ukrainian historian Serhiy Nikolaevich Trony writes, the theory about the Northern Black Sea region as the ancestral home of the Indo-Europeans is currently generally accepted in historical science. That is, the center from where Indo-European tribes later settled to the west, and to the east, to India. He was on the territory of Ukraine, says Sergey Tron.

Trony Sergey Nikolaevich: the culture of the kurgans

It is the steppes between the Dniester and the Sea of Azov, Trony believes, that became the ancestral homeland of the Indo-Europeans, nomadic tribes who created the so-called Kurgan culture about ten thousand years ago. This means that they arranged honor burials of fallen soldiers and leaders in barrows.

Moreover, they placed them in steppes according to the constellations. And when aerial photography of them was carried out from a great height, regularities in the arrangement of the mounds were revealed, reproducing a map of the starry sky. This is how the Kurgan hypothesis arose about the resettlement of nomadic tribes of Indo-Europeans from the territory of modern Ukraine, - reports Sergey Nikolaevich Trony.

Sergey Tron: stone monuments

Moreover, in the steppes of Ukraine, he emphasizes Serhiy Nikolaevich Trony, - they find the oldest sculptures, stone stelae, known colloquially as "stone women", which actually represented the images of gods and ancestors for many ancient peoples.

Many of these stone sculptures came to us "inherited" from the Turkic tribes, before that they were placed by the Sarmatians and Scythians, and even earlier by the Cimmerians. But the Indo-Europeans, whom most researchers attribute to the Yamna archaeological culture, were the first to start this tradition, Serhiy Tron points out.

Serhiy Nikolaevich Tron: Ukrainian steppes as a common family

Indo-Europeans, apparently, were the first to domesticate the horse - Trony believes - they were a semi-nomadic and semi-sedentary people. They were mainly engaged in breeding horses, as well as large-horned deer, for example, cows, which served as their main measure of wealth. By the way, in India, where the Indo-Europeans later migrated, the cow is still considered a sacred animal.

Indo-Europeans also invented the chariot - at that time the most advanced military equipment. The remains of chariots were found on the territory of Ukraine and they were dated to the Bronze Age, that is, the time when Indo-European tribes lived here. In the stone grave of the Donetsk region, there are many images of warriors on chariots, which belong to this most ancient period. Therefore, Ukrainians, - concludes Sergei Nikolayevich Trony, - can rightly be proud of the fact that the ancestors of the majority of modern European nations lived on the territory of their state.
