Promenade in the center

The Opera and Ballet Theater is rightfully considered the heart of the city. Located in the very center of Odessa, between Deribasovskaya Street and Primorsky Boulevard, this theater is the first in the city in terms of its appearance and importance. Opera House, as it is called by the people of Odessa, impresses with its magnificent architecture in the "Baroque" style. Many famous world-class artists performed here.

Not far from the theater is the famous Deribasovskaya Street. Most of it is occupied by a pedestrian zone paved with cobblestones. There are brand clothing and cosmetics stores, cafes and restaurants located here. The cozy City Garden adjacent to it completes the street.

Two more iconic places of Odessa are located here - the monuments to the performer and actor Leonid Utyosov and the 12th chair. The latter is dedicated to the well-known work of Ilf and Petrov "12 chairs". The monument was opened in 1999 and quickly gained popularity. This is a favorite place for memorable photos of tourists.

Walks along the sea

Primorsky Boulevard is an atmospheric alley that starts from the City Council and ends at the Vorontsov Palace. A stunning panorama of Odessa Bay and port opens here. The Istanbul and Greek parks are located on the lower levels of the boulevard.

In the center of Primorsky Boulevard, there is a monument to Duke de Richelieu, one of the founders of Odessa. This man was held in high esteem by the inhabitants of the city. Under him, the city gained fame and the status of a trading port, elite educational institutions were opened, the economy and culture flourished.

The bronze statue of Duke crowns one of the brightest sights of Odessa – the Potemkin Stairs. Initially, this architectural structure included 200 steps, separated by 10 intermediate platforms. However, at the moment, after some reconstructions in its lower part, the staircase began to consist of 192 steps.

This is a list of the best sights of Odessa. But in this city, there are still many amazing places that are worth visiting to soak up its unique atmosphere.
