A new beehive and additional beekeeper equipment

To make a hive for bees, it is not necessary to buy expensive building materials. Its construction can be simple and inexpensive with the help of plastic and wooden parts. Every beekeeper probably has a set of some kind of plastic and tools that will help to collect the hive by hand. By making a double-walled case with insulation, thermal resistance will be provided. Plastic can guarantee the exact manufacture of cases and resistance to large changes in temperature, humidity and rotting. This increases the service life of the hive. The small body makes the hive convenient to use. In addition to the hive, you will need it honey race 3 frame, which you will use for the honey duck.

Assembly, step by step.

The plastic frames of the new beehive are very strong, they do not break in honey combs even at high rotor speeds. They consist of an upper wooden beam with a thickness of 8 mm, at the ends of which there are two slots with a width of 3 mm and a length of 20 mm. Two side plastic racks with a thickness of 1,5 mm each have a long edge of rigidity. At the upper end of the rack - T - a shaped hook 8 mm high, equal to the thickness of the upper bar, with which it enters the slots on the bar and is fixed when the wire for fastening the wax is tightened.

At the lower end of the rack there are two holes, they include the spikes of the lower (plastic) bar of the frame (thickness 2,5 mm), which has a stiffening edge. At the ends of the bar there are two spikes for connecting it to the side racks. To fasten the wax on the frame, the wire is stretched diagonally. Assembly of the frame, tensioning of the wire, extension must be carried out on a special template, the dimensions of which correspond to the internal dimensions of the frame (this is necessary so that the frame has the shape of a rectangle).

Advantages of frameworks.

The general advantage of the frames is that it is not necessary to use wire strings to attach the wax to them. The dimensions of the frame are such that the honeycomb built on it has sufficient inherent strength. The use of wooden frames allows you not to use wax at all. For this, the wooden frame in the inner perimeter, in the center of the posts and bars, should have a groove of 2,5*2,5, into which a strip of wax with a width of 4-5 mm is inserted and fixed, which will serve as a guide for the bees and the direction of the construction of the comb.

Cell phone is very important.

A comb built without wax is always sterile, but wax is very often the source of infection of families with infectious diseases. In addition, each breed of bees (depending on the geographical area of habitation) builds its own, unique to it, sizes of bee cells.

It has been established that an increase in the size of the cells provokes the disease of bees with varroatosis and ascospherosis. Apparently, one of the reasons for the mass defeat of bees by these diseases, and possibly by others, is wax, because it usually has cells of excessive sizes. Honeycombs of natural sizes create a natural habitat for bees, which helps to increase the immunity of the family, which arose in the course of its thousand-year evolutionary development.

Since the mass of the body is small, the creation of broods, the removal and replacement of queens, and the fight against various bee diseases are simplified. With its help, you can easily create families - honeybees, organize the maturation of honey outside the hive, which contributes to the increase in the productivity of families. The hive body can easily be transformed into a bag for transporting bees, into a four-seater nucleus and suitable for two-queen maintenance (it is enough to replace the mesh bottom with a separating grid when removing the queens).

The use of separation grids, spare mesh bottoms and covers allows the beekeeper to combine different beekeeping technologies depending on his capabilities, the condition of bee colonies, the weather, the presence of bait, and also does not require a high qualification of the beekeeper, contributes to the rapid acquisition of experience, which is very important for a beginner beekeeper - lover.
