Every owner of his own home faces the need to replace plumbing fixtures. In order for them to serve as long as possible, when they are chosen here you should be careful and take into account some nuances.

How to choose the right sanitary ware?

When buying plumbing fixtures, you should remember that it is better to choose a toilet and a bathtub, a sink, and a bidet of the same style and of the same material. Also, do not forget about their comfort and convenience. Such parameters as shape and size are taken into account in accordance with the preferences of the apartment owners.

When choosing sanitary ware, it is necessary to pay attention to the material from which it is made. The leaders in popularity are toilets, sinks and bidets made of earthenware or porcelain. These materials are outwardly similar, but they have some differences.

Earthenware products have low weight and cost, and the surface has low porosity. Porcelain sanitary ware is produced using a different firing method, so it looks smoother than earthenware products. This material is resistant to temperature fluctuations, and it is very easy to care for, since various impurities practically do not linger on its surface. However, similar sanitary ware, as well as faience products, has a small drawback - chips and cracks quickly appear on its surface under mechanical impact.

Other materials can be used for the production of sanitary ware:

- composites. Products made of composite materials are resistant to the effects of chemicals and easily tolerate mechanical impact. In appearance, they are easily confused with marble, and they have a smooth and shiny surface;

- marble. This material is distinguished by its high cost, refined and luxurious appearance. However, it has high porosity, which requires frequent maintenance, as the surface quickly becomes dirty;

- glass. With proper hardening, this material can compete with products made from the above materials. However, glass plumbing requires daily care, as dried liquid drops, leaks and spills are very noticeable on it.

When choosing sanitary ware, it is necessary to choose its dimensions correctly. In this case, you should focus on the area of the bathroom. If its dimensions are insufficient, it is better to give it to a plumber with a suitable type of fastener. In this case, you should choose corner sinks, they are the most compact and will not take up much space.

The choice of a bathtub, which can also be made of various materials, requires special attention. Traditional cast-iron baths retain heat well, however, they are very heavy. Steel products are light in weight, but the water in them cools down in a short time, and their service life is very short. Acrylic bathtubs are considered the most preferable option.

The water in them keeps warm for a long time, and the products themselves are very light. Their disadvantage is that they are not resistant to scratches, so special tools should be used to clean such baths.
