We choose plastic heating pipes

It does not always make sense to install gas-welded steel heating pipes in your own home, which are expensive and do not last many years. It is much more efficient to install the latest plastic heating pipes, valuable for their increased strength, low price and ability to serve without leaks for decades. But these pipes are made of different plastic, on which the attentive buyer simply has to emphasize.

The most convenient are polypropylene pipes, which are highly rated by consumers because they can easily withstand temperature effects of the coolant up to 95°C, and can withstand pressure up to 15 mbar. Polypropylene pipes with additional fiberglass reinforcement, which can be bought, are considered the best in this line here. Let the thickness of the pipe be slightly smaller than that of single-layer or metal versions, but the coolant in such a pipe will flow faster, and due to the unique properties of plastic, salts and stones will not form on the surface.

Polypropylene pipes are valuable for their simple installation - it is enough for a master plumber to use a special thermal soldering iron, the heads of which are heated to 300 degrees, as two pieces of pipe are reliably welded to each other with the help of clamps. Joints with the help of taps and semi-taps are also completely sealed.

If greater strength is required from the heating system, it is much better to use metal-plastic pipes, which have reinforcement in the form of metal foil. Next, everything is covered with a strong adhesive composition, and on top there is another layer of plastic, which reliably protects the entire structure from accidental physical effects. The disadvantage of the latter is that they are poorly resistant to ultraviolet radiation. But if you take into account that such pipes are installed inside residential premises, then they will be able to last an exceptionally long time. Among the advantages of metal-plastic pipes, it is worth noting a special installation, in which they are connected to each other with the help of press pliers. Although this type of technology is more expensive than thermal welding, the density of the joints is so high that they easily withstand the impact of the coolant with a force of more than 25 mbar.

In addition to the above-mentioned pipes, it is reasonable to pay attention to the fittings. To assemble the heating circuit, both taps with semi-taps and American taps together with adapters are required. The first ones are needed for bending, while the second pipes are connected to the heating radiators. American ones are considered the best choice, because after the wear of the radiator, you can unscrew them and install a new heating device yourself, but the adapters are quoted in terms of reduced cost and better tightness of the joints.
