Sometimes, even in a new refrigerator, the compressor can burn out due to a voltage surge or overload. But instead of buying a new refrigerator, sometimes it is profitable to replace the old compressor with a new one, I bought it in an online store look. Such repairs will be cheap, and the refrigerating unit itself will be able to work for more than a dozen years.
Until recently, piston compressors were in use, which were widely installed in Soviet refrigerators. They are valued for a number of reasons: they can be started from any low voltage (some have a 127/220 V switch) and have a significant safety margin - some versions in the form of a "pot" or "sausage" work stably even in our time. But these compressors have their drawbacks - increased noise and vibration generated when starting or stopping. Therefore, copper pipes periodically crack in them, from which refrigerant and freon oil flow out. But everything is fixed by a relatively simple and cheap repair.
Crank and rocker compressors are considered more reliable, which are characterized by extremely low noise and a complete absence of vibration. Even if the refrigerator is equipped with aluminum tubes, then there is no need to worry about them - they do not crack, since these compressors, made in the "pot" design, do not vibrate. The best compressors of this type are produced by Atlant and Byryusa, which, with minimal dimensions, guarantee effective throttling of freon.
In top refrigerators, such as Samsung, you can find inverter compressors in which freon throttles the rotor, which spins faster or slower. At the same time, an even lower level of noise, a higher level of productivity is achieved, and energy consumption is reduced by up to 30 percent compared to conventional versions.
There are disadvantages - such compressors are expensive and complicated in terms of installation, since it is necessary to pump as much refrigerant into the refrigeration system as is required. And not a gram more, because the performance of the entire system risks being disrupted. "Left" versions of refrigerators with inverter compressors often have one significant drawback - an excessively hot condenser installed inside the case. If it is impossible to raise a hand, then it is better to refuse such a unit - it will consume a lot of energy and will fail quite quickly.
When choosing compressors for refrigerators, you must always remember that they have a special guarantee - until the "first quarrel". As soon as the compressor is installed in the refrigeration system using gas welding, the warranty is automatically canceled. But if we take into account that the above-mentioned compressors are of high quality and have practically no factory defects, then this defect is not considered a significant argument against buying them for your own refrigerator.
