Zeekr brand has announced a large SUV with a Range Rover-like design. The Zeekr 9X Grand will be positioned as a luxury flagship.
The new 9X Grand shares a body shape with the Range Rover with a characteristic angle of inclination of the front and rear pillars, a straight hood line and an almost vertical radiator grille in the style of the 009 minivan. The optics are made in the Zeekr brand style, the door handles are retractable, and a lidar can be seen above the windshield, which indicates a high level of autonomy. The length of the 9X Grand will be about 5,2 meters (the Range Rover is 5,5 meters).
The 9X Grand will be the brand’s first model to feature the Zeekr Super Hybrid, a hybrid system with an internal combustion engine, but details are still lacking. CarNewsChina reports that it combines BEV, PHEV and EREV technologies. It is expected that the ICE will only be connected to the wheels at high speeds, and the rest of the time the engine will act as a generator, making the new model more fuel-efficient than its competitors.
The Zeekr hybrid will feature a 2000 TOPS Nvidia Drive Thor chip that will power smart electronics, including the L4 autonomous driving system. In addition to Zeekr, BYD, GAC Aion Hyper, and Xpeng will also use this chip.
The Zeekr 9X Grand is expected to make its public debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. Sales in China are scheduled to begin in the second half of the year, with a starting price of over 1 million yuan ($140).
