In February 2025, gas supplies by Russia's Gazprom through the TurkStream gas pipeline to Europe reached a new record, exceeding 55 million cubic meters per day. Reuters reports this, citing data from European gas transmission network operators.
After the cessation of supplies through Yamal-Europe and Nord Stream, as well as the cessation of gas transportation through Ukraine since January of this year, Gazprom has only one gas pipeline left to Europe - through Turkey, which has a capacity of 15,75 billion cubic meters per year.
In February 2025, daily deliveries through TurkStream increased by 30,7% compared to February 2024, reaching 55,8 million cubic meters per day, compared to 42,7 million cubic meters in the previous year. This increased the volume of gas transported by 10%, according to the European Network of Transmission System Operators.
Gazprom previously published export statistics twice a month, but stopped providing this data from the beginning of 2023.
According to Reuters estimates, the total volume of Russian gas exports through TurkStream in February 2025 amounted to about 1,56 billion cubic meters, compared to 1,24 billion cubic meters in February last year, while in January this year the volume of supplies was 1,57 billion cubic meters.
According to Reuters, Gazprom's gas supplies to Europe in 2024 increased by 13%, reaching 32 billion cubic meters compared to 28,3 billion cubic meters in 2023.
At the peak of exports in 2018-2019, Gazprom supplied more than 175-180 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe, which accounted for more than 80% of the total volume of gas sales in foreign markets.
