Many experienced gardeners/gardeners use fallen leaves as mulch or organic fertilizer.
However, if the trees were not treated in time, the larvae of all kinds of pests and spreaders of numerous diseases were most likely hidden in the leaves.
But with proper preparation of fertilizer from leaves, this can also be avoided.
- To do this, outline a circle near the trunk, the diameter of which is equal to the crown of the tree, and at a distance of half a meter from this circle, dig a trench.
- The depth of the trench should be at least two shovel bayonets. It is necessary to act with care so as not to damage the roots of the tree.
- Fill a third of the dug trench with leaves and tamp. After that, pour the leaves with a solution of superphosphate, which is prepared by adding 30 g of the substance to 10 liters of water.
- It remains to add another layer of leaves, which must be abundantly sprinkled with wood ash, after which fill the trench with earth.
If you choose this method for the disposal of leaves, you can not be afraid of insect larvae and possible infections - the pests will die when they are raked.
