Regular starch will help if you accidentally burn your clothes with a hot iron: lightly dampen the area with water and sprinkle with starch. When the fabric is dry, brush the stain and then wash as usual.
Starch will remove blood stains: dilute 2 tbsp. in a glass of cold water and apply to a fresh stain. Wait until it dries and brush it off. If the stain is not gone after one treatment, try again.
Starch can be used to remove grease splashes from kitchen surfaces: apply a little starch to a damp cloth and wipe the stains until they disappear.
Starch is useful if you need to clean stainless steel or silver items: dilute 2 tbsp. of starch in 100 g of cold water, apply to the items and wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth.
It can even untangle knots in a rope: just rub it with starch and the problem will disappear. You can dip your fingers in starch - knots will be much easier to untie.
