High fructose corn syrup is a "cancer" food because it can accelerate the growth of tumors.
It is added, for example, to ketchup, salad dressings, yogurt, crackers, snacks, steak sauce, applesauce, cereal, juices, and other soft drinks.
Such a supplement contains an excessive amount of fructose, which burdens the work of the liver, turning into glycogen there, which contributes to the accumulation of fat deposits.
The article describes the results of an experiment conducted with two groups of mice prone to the development of malignant neoplasms of the colon. The first, experimental, was drunk with a drink that consisted of three quarters of ordinary water and one quarter of corn syrup with a high fructose content.
The second was given plain water. According to the results of the experiment, which lasted a month, the rodents from the first group gained weight. The experts also discovered that the tumors in the mice from the experimental team increased in size.
According to a published study by Chinese and American scientists, metastatic cancer cells are able to reprogram their metabolism to take over new organs; in particular, secondary malignant tumors originating from pathogenic tissues in the large intestine use fructose in the liver for their growth.
