Starlink shutdown in Ukraine will lead to international crisis - Polish Deputy Prime Minister

Disabling access to the Starlink satellite communication system in Ukraine will lead to an international crisis in relations, in particular between the United States and Poland.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalization of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski, Ukrinform reports with reference to Euroactiv.

The publication notes that Poland provides Starlink terminals for use by Ukraine and pays a subscription fee for them. According to Havkovsky, if SpaceX unilaterally terminates the contract with an EU member state, "this will cause a major crisis in international relations."

"I cannot imagine a situation where business relations between Poland and an American company would be suddenly interrupted," emphasized Hawkowski.

He reiterated that Poland will pay a subscription fee for the use of Starlink in Ukraine by the Ukrainian military and civilians.

Havkovsky also reported that "seeking to diversify" the provision of Internet services in Ukraine, the EU is negotiating with the French satellite communications company Eutelsat to provide Ukraine with Internet access.
