Ukraine is considering introducing a new system for instant payment of fines for traffic violations. Drivers will be able to pay fines directly at the scene of the offense using a smartphone and a QR code.
How will the new system work?
The first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department announced the innovation Oleksiy Biloshitskyi, write RBC-UkraineAccording to him, the system will allow replacing outdated terminals used since 2015 with modern payment technologies.
The new system will work like this:
- The policeman writes out a fine and gives the driver a receipt with QR code.
- The driver scans the code using a smartphone.
- Payment is made through a banking program or online payment service.
- Fine payment data is instantly transmitted to the police database.
Where is the new system already being tested?
The project is currently underway. pilot testing у Chernivtsi and VinnytsiaSystem tests have shown that this payment method is much more convenient for drivers and more efficient for regulatory authorities.
