Vodka production has decreased in Russia
These indicators were influenced by the increase in excise taxes and the minimum retail price for a bottle of vodka.
Vodka production in Russia fell sharply in early 2025. In January-February, vodka factories produced a total of 7,6 million decaliters of the strong alcoholic beverage, which was the lowest figure for this period since 2017. The drop in production compared to 2024 was 26,3%. This was reported by RosZMI, citing data from Rosalkoholtoyutunkontrol (RATK).
It is noted that these indicators were influenced by an increase in excise taxes and the minimum retail price for a bottle of vodka.
The price increase was immediately 50 rubles. In addition, the regions are conducting a fairly active anti-alcohol campaign.
Experts suggest that factories could have sharply reduced production due to overstocked warehouses, as they had previously produced large volumes.
