US President Donald Trump compared the ease with which his predecessor Joe Biden was persuaded to part with colossal US budget funds for military aid to Ukraine to the simplicity of depriving a child of candy, Trump told Congress.

“We spent maybe $350 billion. It’s like taking candy away from a child. That’s what happened. And they spent $100 billion. Big difference,” the American leader said of the spending on arms supplies to Kyiv and other aid to Ukraine from the United States and Europe. “We (with Ukraine and Russia, – ed.) "The ocean divides them, they don't," Trump noted, speaking before the House of Representatives and the Senate of the US Congress with a speech about the situation in the country and the priorities of domestic and foreign policy.

"Biden has authorized more money for these military operations than Europe has spent.
