Chantenay Red Core
An early variety that can be sown throughout the season. The growing season lasts about 90 days. It grows best on well-warmed, loose soils with sufficient moisture. To increase yield, it is recommended to apply mineral fertilizers, thin out seedlings, water the beds, and remove weeds in a timely manner.
Seed germination is about 95%. Root crops are conical in shape with a pointed tip, up to 18 cm long and weighing about 200 g. They have a rich reddish-orange color, a high concentration of sugars, carotene and vitamins. The variety is suitable for both personal consumption and sale.
Nantes Scarlet
This is an early variety, the crop of which can be harvested as early as 75–80 days after emergence. It withstands short-term cold snaps and tolerates high solar activity well. It is resistant to rot, arrowroot and bacterial diseases. Seeds can be sown from the end of April, when the soil temperature reaches 4–5 °C.
It grows best on well-lit loamy soils with good air permeability. The roots are even, smooth, reddish-orange in color, up to 18 cm long, average weight - 180 g. They have a sweet taste, contain a large amount of carotene and vitamins. Carrots are well transported and suitable for storage.
Vita Longa
This mid-season high-yielding variety is adapted to different types of soil and climatic conditions. Due to its characteristics, it is popular for industrial cultivation. If agrotechnical requirements are met, you can get up to 7 kg of root crops from 1 m². The vegetation period lasts 110–115 days.
The seeds have a high germination rate, and the root crops themselves are conical in shape with a blunt tip, a smooth surface, and a bright orange color. The length of the carrot is up to 30 cm, the average weight is 100–250 g. It is not prone to cracking and accumulates a significant amount of sugar, carotene, and dry matter. Due to these properties, the variety is suitable for making juices, baby food, and long-term storage.
