The 59th Separate Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems is a unique unit for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a motorized infantry, it has been defending Ukraine since 2014, and in early 2025 it became part of the Unmanned Systems Forces. Now the 59th is transforming and strengthening the unmanned component, which is aimed at preserving the lives and health of the brigade's fighters.

"There were times when assault groups, after practicing with drones, entered empty trenches. And that's really cool," says the head of the unmanned systems reconnaissance group of the 59th Airborne Brigade with the call sign "Kos".

Its "wings" fly 80 km behind the front line, and drone bombers destroy the occupiers around the clock. But most importantly, thanks to the change in approach to the use of UAVs, this is done even more effectively in coordination with other units of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
