More than 175 wildfires have been started by strong storm winds. And forecasters are warning that even stronger storms are expected.

More than 175 wind-driven wildfires have broken out in the US state of South Carolina on the North Atlantic coast. The fires were only extinguished when the wind died down. But forecasters are warning of a severe storm. Just a month ago, the worst wildfires in California were raging in Los Angeles. USA Today reports.
The largest of the fires, the Covington Lane Fire, has destroyed 1600 acres in Carolina Forest, South Carolina, a small community in the state's west. As of Sunday evening, the fire was 30% contained.
On Monday, evacuation orders were still in effect in neighboring North Carolina, and Polk County Emergency Management said the fire was 30% contained and crews were "protecting homes in the area."
