Nine people were arrested during a rally outside a local Tesla dealership in New York City to protest the role of businessman Elon Musk in implementing massive layoffs for federal employees in the United States.

“We are taking action at Tesla, Musk’s flagship company,” organizers said on the website actionnetwork.org, urging people to dump Tesla shares and “join the pickets.”
“Removing Musk from Tesla would be a significant blow to this administration and its prerogatives, because it would be a blow to what they hold most dear: money and power,” actor and director Alex Winter wrote in an article for Rolling Stone. Winter wrote on social media that he had helped organize the protests.
