Cacti sprinkled with flowers look great in the store. However, when they get home, they suddenly stop blooming and growing even with proper care and feeding. Or their flowering does not last more than 2-3 days.
What is the reason?
A number of conditions interfere with the flowering process, including:
- improper watering;
- lack of light;
- plant starvation;
- diseases
Cacti will refuse to bloom if the pot is constantly moved from place to place.
Irrigation
Sometimes flower growers can harm the plant with too frequent or scanty watering. Excessive wetting of the soil will lead to stagnation of water that will not be absorbed, and the stem will begin to rot.
In summer, in the heat, cacti are watered 2 times a week, in winter - once every 1-14 days.
Temperature
Heat-loving cacti hibernate when the temperature drops. At this time, the cactus directs all its forces to flowering.
By moving the plants to a cool place, cacti are created suitable conditions for them to bloom.
Do not touch cacti
Flowers do not like to be moved from place to place too often.
It is difficult for cacti to adapt to new conditions, which may differ from the previous ones. They will not want to bloom.
