Ryanair to ditch paper tickets in November

Low-cost airline Ryanair plans to abandon paper boarding passes across the airline from November 2025.

This was reported by The Independent, Ukrinform reports.

From November 3, Ryanair passengers will no longer be able to print out a paper ticket. Instead, a digital boarding pass will be available in the "myRyanair" app for check-in and boarding.

The app's services will also include a new "order to seat" feature to be served first, real-time flight updates, and alternative flight options in the event of a flight disruption.

After the transition, Ryanair “expects to eliminate almost all airport check-in fees.” Airport check-in remained available, but at a high price.

In 2008, Ryanair became the first airline in the world to offer passengers the ability to check in for their flight online before arriving at the airport.

According to the airline's estimates, eliminating paper passes will save over 300 tons of paper waste annually.
