The simplest and most obvious ingredients make a delicious apple pie! One of my favorite recipes, there is no better way to enjoy tea!
Ingredients:
Dough:
- 3 egg yolks
- 100 g of sugar
- 10 g of vanilla sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 200 g butter (margarine)
- 0,5 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 300 – 320 g flour
Toppings:
- 3 apples
- 3 egg whites
- 60 g of sugar
Preparation:
Dough:
In a bowl, I whisk the egg yolks with sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt until the mixture turns white, add the softened butter, and stir everything together. I slake the soda with lemon juice in a separate bowl and add it to the dough. I add the sifted flour and knead a soft dough that doesn't stick to your hands. I put a quarter of the dough in a bag and put it in the freezer.
I put the remaining dough into a 24 cm baking dish, spread it evenly over the bottom of the dish and form the sides. I put the dish with the dough in the refrigerator while I prepare the filling.
Toppings: Beat the egg whites with sugar, using a mixer, until stiff peaks form. I peel the apples and grate them.
I take the mold with the dough out of the refrigerator, spread the grated apples on the dough in an even layer, and spread the beaten egg whites on the apples in an even layer.
I grate a quarter of the frozen dough onto the egg whites. I bake the pie in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until golden brown, 40-50 minutes.
Let the cake cool completely in the pan. Enjoy your tea!
