How to fertilize a rose with coffee grounds
The reason is simple: coffee grounds contain nitrogen, potassium, magnesium and antioxidants, which act as growth stimulants and protect plants from diseases. In order for the grounds not to harm roses, they need to be prepared. Fresh coffee grounds are highly acidic, so they need to be washed with water to remove caffeine residues. Then the grounds need to be dried.
The next step is to mix the slurry with the soil near the roots or sprinkle it in a thin layer around the stem. This will improve the structure of the area and also attract earthworms. What’s more, the slurry also prevents aphids from appearing in the garden. In just a month, the roses will produce many bright buds.
You can also pour coffee grounds with warm water - 100 liters of water per 3 grams. Insist the solution for a day, and then use it to spray the leaves. This procedure will prevent powdery mildew. A thin coffee film on the leaves has a negative effect on fungi, and the smell helps to repel insects. Do not use coffee treatment more often than once a month.
Coffee contains so-called “slow carbohydrates” that are released gradually. This way you provide your rose with nutrition for the entire season. Unlike factory fertilizers, a few coffee fertilizers will be enough for lush and long-lasting flowering.
