When is the right time to pick carrots for storage and have juicy and tasty root vegetables?
The main mistake is that we can sow different varieties and harvest them at the same time. But they all differ in terms of ripening:
- ultra fast ripening
- precocious
- early ripe
- mid-season
- ultra-late.
The solution is simple: save the seed packets. Each packet has the ripening date of the variety written on it.
For example, if the package says that carrots ripen in 100 days, we count not from the day the seeds were sown in the garden, but from the time they have already sprouted.
If you notice, just the day you sowed, add three weeks, usually during this period the carrot rises and releases cotyledon leaves, add the ripening period and only then dig it up.
CONCLUSION: Be sure to track the germination time and adhere to the ripening period, do not over-grow carrots in the garden, then the harvest will please you very much!
