In the US, a man swallowed two Tiffany earrings worth $770 during his arrest.

This was reported by the Associated Press, citing testimony from detectives.
According to police, a 32-year-old Texas resident went into a jewelry store to supposedly buy diamond earrings and a diamond ring on behalf of an Orlando Magic basketball player.
The salespeople escorted the man to a VIP room where he was supposed to inspect the jewelry. Instead, he grabbed the jewelry and ran out of the store.
One of the salespeople tried to interfere and managed to knock a diamond ring worth $587 out of his hands. But the attacker did escape with a pair of earrings.
The police took up the case. Using surveillance video from a shopping mall, officers quickly identified the suspect's license plate number. They were able to locate and stop him almost 550 kilometers from the crime scene.
Detectives said the suspect swallowed the stolen earrings during his roadside arrest. He later admitted in the police car that he “should have thrown them out the window.” Later, in jail, he asked staff if he would be charged with stealing the earrings if “they were in his stomach.”
The man had an X-ray, which showed a foreign body in his digestive tract.
The man is currently charged with theft and robbery.
Recall that earlier we reported that three men in the United Kingdom stole an 80-kilogram gold toilet from a palace, sawed it up, and sold it in parts.
