According to Mark Rubio, Vladimir Putin is unlikely to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, but the only way to end the war is to engage the Russians in negotiations.
The United States is ready to resume engagement with Ukraine, but only when it is “ready for peace,” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in an interview with the American television channel ABC.
“The United States will be ready to resume engagement when Ukraine is ready for peace. Obviously, that is what the President (Donald Trump, — ed.) aims to do,” Rubio said.
He also emphasized that the White House is trying to find a way to end the war, but this requires involving Russia in the negotiation process.
“Nobody here is saying that Vladimir Putin is going to win the Nobel Peace Prize… We need to figure out if there is a way to get them to stop the war? And the only way to do that is to engage the Russians in negotiations,” Rubio stressed.
