Estonia to allocate 5% of GDP to defense
The mortar from Austrian weapons manufacturer Hirtenberger Defense Europe is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 8,5 kilometers.
The Estonian State Defense Investment Center has signed a €50 million contract with Austrian arms manufacturer Hirtenberger Defense Europe for the purchase of 120 mm towed mortars, ERR reported on Saturday, March 8.
It is stated that the weapons system consists of a long-range mortar, a wide range of ammunition, auxiliary field equipment, aiming systems, and a fully digital fire control system.
The mortar is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 8,5 kilometers, providing maximum firepower and reliability even in the most difficult conditions.
“The system is quick to install, easy to use and can be integrated into custom transport solutions,” the report says.
