In Miami, RM Sotheby's auctioned off a vintage 7 Rauch & Lang JX-1917 Brougham electric car. It fetched $179 - the same as four Tesla Model Ys.
The American company Rauch & Lang has been producing electric cars since 1905. It is noteworthy that at the beginning of the 1912th century it was not the only manufacturer of electric cars in the United States, as these cars were quite popular. In particular, in 33, 800 electric cars were assembled.
Only a few of these machines have survived to this day, and they are now quite expensive.
Electric cars were valued not only for their lack of exhaust. The fact is that gasoline cars at that time did not have an electric starter and had to be started with a handle ("crooked starter"), which was not easy.
