Multi-brand concern Stellantis intends to strengthen its position in China. With the support of long-time partner Dongfeng, a new star will appear on the local market - Hedmos. In accordance with local trends, the new company will build electric cars.
The brand's first representative will be the compact crossover Fukang 06, and its production will be organized at the facilities of the Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën joint venture. The new C-SUV, about 4,7 m long, will be equipped with a single electric motor with a capacity of 218 hp, powered by a CALB (China Aviation Lithium Battery) lithium-iron-phosphate battery.
The new brand's emblem was a "compass arrow, symbolizing the desire for adventure." Interestingly, the Fukang name had previously been used for local versions of Peugeot, Citroën, and Dongfeng, and the brand debuted in the 90s.
Hedmos cars will be sold through the Dongfeng Citroen and Dongfeng Peugeot dealer networks. Orders for the new model are scheduled to be accepted in April this year, and mass production will start in May. According to preliminary data, the cost of the Fukang 06 will vary from 15 to 20 thousand dollars.
