Hyundai Motor Türkiye is preparing to start producing electric vehicles in Turkey, a move that reinforces the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint while supporting the local economy and the global transition to sustainable mobility.
Electric car models from the Turkish plant will be sent to European markets. Along with electric models, Hyundai Motor Türkiye will continue to produce models with internal combustion engines.
As part of its ongoing transformation, Hyundai Motor Türkiye has changed its previous name to “Hyundai Assan Otomotiv Sanayi” to better reflect its role in the global automotive landscape. The company’s restructuring efforts underscore its position as Hyundai Motor Group’s first and oldest overseas manufacturing center outside of South Korea.
In addition to expanding production, Hyundai Motor Türkiye prioritizes local procurement, as over 55% of automotive parts are produced domestically through a network of over 50 suppliers.
