The reason for the restrictions could be increased sanctions control by the US

Russian users of the largest international marketplace AliExpress are now unable to order DDR4 and DDR5 RAM and M.2 solid-state drives (SSDs). The products disappeared from the platform on February 25, and it is unknown when they will be available to Russian buyers again. The Moscow Times reports.
One user noticed hidden restrictions for Russian users on AliExpress – the so-called "shadow ban", due to which M.2 SSDs and DDR4/DDR5 RAM modules became unavailable for order.
The reason for the restrictions could be increased sanctions control by the US. Presumably, Chinese manufacturers or AliExpress itself came under pressure from inspections.
A possible reason could also be the policy of Chinese banks, which periodically block payments from the Russian Federation due to the risk of secondary US sanctions.
The restrictions may be related to changes in Russian legislation. In 2024, many Chinese sellers left Ozon Global and AliExpress due to the requirements for mandatory registration of a legal entity in Russia. They later returned after completing the paperwork.
The situation may also be related to bureaucratic procedures.
