There are no foods or diets that are suitable for absolutely everyone, just as there are no foods that will make you gain weight instantly. However, nutritionists consider these 3 foods to be the main enemies of a beautiful figure for modern people.
According to a new study by scientists at George Washington University, some foods are more closely linked to weight gain than others. It's all about the excessive processing that strips them of nutrients, fiber, and which, on the other hand, quickly provokes hunger.
chips
Potato chips are made with three simple ingredients: chopped potatoes, oil, and salt. Part of the problem with industrial chips is the type of oil used. Frying is another hit, as cooking starchy foods at very high temperatures has been shown to cause the formation of acrylamide, a chemical linked to aging and an increased risk of cancer. Synthetic flavor enhancers and flavorings are another appetite-wrecker.
Alternative: For a healthier version, thinly slice the potatoes, drizzle lightly with olive oil, and add a little sea salt and black pepper, and cook on a baking sheet over medium heat.
Sweets and desserts
It's unrealistic to live the rest of your life avoiding sweets altogether, but most people eat far more than the minimum recommended for health and disease prevention.
Alternative: Consider limiting treats to twice a week. And enjoy a few squares of 70% dark chocolate every day. Craving something sweet? Eat a banana.
Shelling
White bread, pasta, white rice, etc. all of these foods negatively affect blood sugar levels, which can ultimately lead to weight problems. In addition, they are not very filling, which provokes overeating.
Alternative: These days, you can find whole grain versions of almost everything, from bread to pasta, rice, cereal, crackers, and bagels. Just be sure to read the ingredient lists and choose whole grain products.
