The Korean automaker has announced a new compact electric crossover, the Kia EV2. It is noted that the car will appear next year and will be one of the smallest and most affordable electric vehicles of the brand.
Prices for the new model are said to start at €30. Technical details of the electric car remain under wraps, but the EV000 is expected to use the initial 2V version of Hyundai Motor Group's E-GMP architecture, which also underpins the larger Kia EV400 and EV3.
That’s why the Kia EV2 will likely offer a single-motor powertrain with 201 hp and a choice of 58,3 or 81,4 kWh batteries. It could also get the 43,3 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery used in the related new PV5 van.
Visually, the EV2 represents the next step in Kia's Opposites United design philosophy. The most obvious new features are its sleek exterior surfaces and front lighting with an additional set of claw-like running lights.
