Everyone grows beets, but not everyone manages to do it successfully. This culture is somewhat capricious. We suggest looking at the main difficulties that may arise and how to avoid them. After all, the crop is of interest to everyone who plans to sow beds with this root crop.
The seeds did not germinate
Let's start with the fact that seeds germinate slowly. And this also requires appropriate weather conditions. If the temperature is only +5-6 degrees, then you can see something green only after 20 days. At a temperature of +10+12 degrees, you can expect signs of germination on the 10th or 15th day.
To speed up the process, before sowing, you should soak the seeds in warm water or in a biostimulator. And don't forget that the soil must be moist. Nothing will grow in dry soil.
Why don't beets grow
There are already steps on the bed, and then the process stopped. There may be several reasons for this. Consider them according to your area:
- a bed in a poorly lit place without the sun;
- the soil is compacted, not loose;
- problems with watering;
- soil with high acidity;
- no thinning was done.
It is necessary to eliminate the possible causes of poor growth, then there are chances of continued normal development of beets in the garden. Only a comprehensive approach will make it possible to grow and harvest.
