The fact is that it is possible to force an orchid to throw out new flower stalks. But for this, it is necessary to create stressful conditions for this fragile and beautiful flower. It is necessary to organize a temperature difference of 10-15 degrees between day and night.
For example, you can open the window at night, as long as the night temperatures are not too low, but you should not put the orchid on the windowsill so as not to expose the plant to drafts.
You can also put the flowerpot on the loggia for two weeks in September, when the heat has subsided but the frost has not yet arrived.
If the weather is above 25 degrees Celsius during the day and the temperature does not rise above 15 at night, then these are good conditions to make the flower bloom again.
At the same time, with such differences, you should not water the plant, otherwise this will provoke root rot.
Closer to October, the home flower can be returned to the room.
Orchids need watering after the substrate dries and fertilizing every 2 weeks. Also, if you are determined to achieve results, purchase special phytolamps that will provide additional light for the flower.
It should be noted that the procedure with a temperature drop is not suitable for orchids that have recently been brought from the store and transplanted into a new pot; temperature drops can only be applied to home orchids that are adapted to your apartment or house.
